Program Objectives
This program provides the important financial and risk analysis background
and presentation skills necessary to prepare and analyze realistic
financial projections for oil, gas, and power projects. The program
teaches the principles and best practices of successful project
analysis and presentation. Emphasis is placed on engaging the
learner, through the use of real-world examples, case studies, and
decision-driven team workshops. The outcome is a thorough and practical
development of energy project analysis and presentation skills in
a learning format that is practical and hands-on so as to make learning
challenging, effective and engaging.

Practical Use of Excel to Model Project Economics
Learn how the full capabilities of Excel
can be used to model projects.
Documenting and Incorporating Key Project Variables
Pre-development, CAPEX, financing options, revenues, OPEX, taxes,
net income and cash flow.
Project Risk Analysis
Analyze project risks and incorporate them
into the project analysis through their
risk assumption, mitigation, assignment
insurance or hedging.

Consider the budgets of a portfolio
of projects.
Practical Use of PowerPoint to Present Projects
to Management
Learn to develop and deliver PowerPoint presentations.
Case Studies
Participants, working in teams, will
analyze realistic oil, gas and power case
studies drawn from the E&P, gas, downstream
and chemicals sectors, make decisions
on which projects to develop and
present recommendations to the Board.
Participants are encouraged to bring their
laptop computers if available. Otherwise
computers will be available for the use of
small teams.
